The incumbent is responsible for directing and managing three crucial departments of RRD namely Technical Services, Engineering Development and Plant Integrity Departments. The incumbent reports to Refinery Manager who is responsible for over-all management of complex refinery with daily production of 400,000 BPD and supporting utilities producing water & 600 MW power. . Responsible to ensure the Divisional KPIs related to all these departments are met, business processes are updated and technology best practices are incorporated in these departments. Through Technical Department Manager, he ensures that directions and strategies are set for refinery production and other plans based on economic indicators, resource implications to meet marketing requirement in order to maximize the profitability of the business. In addition, he ensures effective analysis of plant operations, resolution of existing problems, studies to enhance performance, evaluation of technology advances, timely audits and benchmarking studies are implemented. . Through Engineering Development Manager, he insures that the division products are budgeted, planned and implemented as per the agreed plans. He also ensures that all Engineering standards are updated as per the company’s Design General Specifications and international standards. Acts as focal points for co-ordination between RRD and Engineering and Projects Division for all major projects being executed by Engineering and Projects Division. . Through Plant Integrity Manager he insures that long term reliability and sustenance of RRD assets (more than $ 4 Billion) is maintained as per company’s inspection and maintenance policies and international standards.

2.       CONDENSATE SECTION HEAD

Minimum Requirement:

  • B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering or equivalent. 
  • 9 Years of diversified experience in Refinery/Gas processing operations, of which 4 years should have been in a senior supervisory  level.
  • Good knowledge of English both written and spoken.

 Basic Function:

Supervisors and controls operations of condensate processing trains processing 280,000 barrels per day to produce environmental friendly refined value added predetermined quantities of specified products meeting divisional objectives for the plants.

Meets production and quality targets set in conjunction with Production Planning to meet marketing demands of the products.

Reviews operating parameters and plant conditions on continual basis, modifies them as per company¡¯s procedure, trouble-shoots plant problems and handles plant emergencies to ensure that the plants are operated efficiently and safely. Closely involved in the maintenance planning aspects with maintenance and job safety analysis to ensure that all work carried out in his area meets HSE standards.

Ensures optimal consumption of chemicals, energy and other additives to produce right mix and product blends as agreed.

Initiates and reviews plant improvement, modification, and operating/ capital budget / proposals in line with the best operating practices and the industry trends.

Monitors the training function in the department to achieve predetermined nationalization targets and implement the CBT program.

As a custodian of the plant, ensures that the HSEMS system is fully implemented in his area. Ensures that all the releases to atmosphere are well controlled to meet the company¡¯s environmental standards:

3.       NDT ENGINEER

Minimum Requirement:

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering with Level III qualification in NDT examinations or equivalent preferred.
  • 5 years experience in Inspection and NDT testing of which at least 4 years should be in Petroleum Process plant.
  • Good written and spoken English.

 

4.       DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

Minimum Requirement:

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5 years¡¯ experience in plant engineering, design and project management, preferably in an Oil/Gas or Petrochemical Industry including working with computer based engineering development systems.
  • Good knowledge of English.

 

5.       INSPECTION ENGINEER

Minimum Requirement:

  • B.Sc., in Metallurgical or Mechanical engineering..
  • 5 years¡¯ experience in inspection, corrosion prevention and preferably in an refinery oil/gas or petrochemical industry.
  • Good knowledge of written and spoken English.
  • Good knowledge of relevant API, ASTM, NACE, ASME and TEMA standards / codes.
  • Preferably certified as API 510, 570, 653 Inspector.

 

6.       CORROSION ENGINEER

Minimum Requirement:

  • B. Sc. in Metallurgical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferably with qualification in corrosion engineering.
  • 5 Years experience in process and utilities of Petroleum Refineries,
  • Good knowledge of written and spoken English.


 

7.       COST CONTROL ENGINEER

Minimum Requirement:

  • B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree.
  • 5 years experience in maintenance planning, cost control and contract management, preferably in an oil/gas or petrochemical industry. 

 

8.       NDT TECHNICIAN

Minimum Requirement:

  • Completion of Higher Secondary School certificate (12 years) with valid ASNT Level II certificates in DP, MPT, UT & RT Techniques.
  • 6 years experience in non-destructive testing work in a petroleum /chemical plant.
  • Fair knowledge of English

 

9.       SR AUTOMATION ENGINEER

Minimum Requirement:

  • B.Sc. in Chemical or Electronics engineering.. 
  • 7 Years experience in refinery and process control applications and databases Good knowledge of English both written and spoken.
  • Should have relevant experience in FOXBRO / ABB DCS

 

10.     PRODUCTION ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT

Minimum Requirement:

  • Higher Diploma in Chemical Engineering Technology (3 years) or equivalent.
  • 5 years experience in production accounting in a similar industry.
  • Proficiency in standard spreadsheet and database management applications.
  • Good knowledge of written and spoken English.

 

11.     LAB TECHNICIAN

Minimum Requirement:

  • Diploma in Analytical Chemistry or equivalent qualification.
  • 4 years experience in Petroleum Refinery Laboratory and familiarity with advanced computerized Laboratory equipment.

12.     SR. OPERATIONS ENGINEER

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.Sc. in chemical Engineering or Equivalent.
  • 7 years experience in oil refining or gas processing operations.
  • Good knowledge of English both written and spoken.
  • Very good computer skills

 

Basic Function:

Provides essential coordination and support to various plant Section Heads with a view to ensuring safe, efficient and optimal functioning of various plant operating units and systems. Includes coordinating shutdown planning, major maintenance programmes and modifications to ensure plant reliability, safety and maximum availability. Reviews and updates operating procedures and standing instructions.

13.     SR OPERATION ENGINEER- BEAAT

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.Sc. in Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical Engineering or equivalent
  • At least 5 years experience in operation as Shift Engineer/ Supervisory level in any power or process plant
  • Should have experience in operation of power or process plant especially in utility systems.
  • Professionalism and good knowledge
  • Good knowledge of English and Computer Literate

 

Basic Function:

-The job is of a Senior Engineer level reporting to RAS Manager.

The job holder is responsible  to provide essential co-ordination and support to BeAAT Section Head to ensure safe, efficient and optimal functioning of various operating units and system in BeAAT plant

- Perform BeAAT Section Head responsibility during his absence.

- The nature of duty is of a diversified nature that requires alertness/knowledge of the units and system in BeAAT to provide the necessary support and co-ordination activities

- Provide advice and assistance on all aspects of operational matters

- Participate in maintenance and shut down planning and implementation, review shut down reports and equipment condition with concerned personnel

- Review and update operating/emergency procedures and standing instruction

- Attend HSE meetings and follow up on all action items and co-ordinate for execution.

- Participate in plant safety inspections and provide recommendations to maintain high level of plant operation reliability and safety.

14.     TRAINING INSTRUCTOR–(MECHANICAL)

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.Sc. In Mechanical engineering discipline.
  • 6 years work experience (subject to qualification as above) in Condition monitoring of heavy-duty rotating equipment, within oil/gas industry or power plants, at least 3 years of which should have been in a Training function (On-job) in his Discipline.
  • Experience in preparing Training materials and familiarity with Competency Based Programs is required.
  • Good knowledge of English Language

 

15.     TRAINING INSTRUCTOR–(PROCESS)

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.Sc. In Chemical engineering discipline.
  • 6 years work experience (subject to qualification as above) in Condition monitoring of heavy-duty rotating equipment, within oil/gas industry or power plants, at least 3 years of which should have been in a Training function (On-job) in his Discipline.
  • Experience in preparing Training materials and familiarity with Competency Based Programs is required.

 

16.     MAINTENANCE SECTION HEAD (RAS)

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering
  • 10 Years experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of a wide range of heavy rotating and stationary equipment; and their control/ electrical systems preferably in a power/desalination plant or in oil/gas or petrochemical industry including 5 years in a senior supervisory position.
  • Good knowledge of English

 

 17.     WORKSHOP SECTION HEAD

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering
  • 9 Years experience in diverse metal crafts including machine tooling, bench fitting and the fabrication welding and repair, with some experience of vehicle maintenance and civil business, preferably within a Refinery or Petrochemical plant of which 4 years should have been in a senior supervisory position.
  • Good knowledge of English with technical report writing skills.

 

18.     ANALYSER MAINTENANCE ENGINEER

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.Sc in Instrumentation or Electronic Engineering.
  • 7 years experience in installation, maintenance and repair of analyzer systems in Oil/Gas or Petrochemical Industries.
  • Familiarity with CMMS (Maximo preferred)
  • At least five years

 

19.     SCAFFOLDING INSPECTOR

Minimum Requirements:

  • Qualification – CITB Advanced Scaffold, or NVO level 3 “Accessing’ or equivalent.
  • Experience – After qualification, 3 years working as an Advanced Scaffolder (Advance Scaffolder should have Minimum 12 months on-site experience as a Basic Scaffolder), the third year of which must be spent working with an inspector.
  • Also must hold certificate of demonstrated competence in scaffold inspection.

 

20.     PLANNER

Minimum Requirements:

  • Completion of Technical Secondary (12 years) education plus 2 years Higher Diploma.
  • 6 years’ experience in maintenance and planning in an oil refinery or gas/petrochemical Plant.
  • Knowledge and use of computerised maintenance management system.

 

21.     ANALYZER TECHNICIAN

Minimum Requirements:

  • Completion of Technical Secondary (12 years) education or school education (10 years)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience

 

Basic Function

  • Carries out the skilled installation, maintenance, calibration and repair of a variety of electrical, electronics and microprocessor based Analyzer instrumentation, Process Sample conditioning systems, Distribution Control System (DCS), Laboratory analytical instruments and related instrument equipment in the plant

 

22.     CIVIL SUPERVISOR

  • Completion of Technical Secondary (12 Years) plus 2 years Diploma in Civil Engineering.
  • 6 years experience in the civil crafts.
  • Good knowledge of English

  

23.     SAFETY SECTION HEAD

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.Sc in Science, Chemical Engineering or equivalent
  • 9 years experience in various aspects of safety engineering, preferably in Oil Refinery or Petrochemical Plant, of which 6 years should have been in a supervisory level.
  • UAE valid Driving license is an advantage

  

24.     OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.Sc. degree in Medicine, Science, or equivalent.
  • 9 years experience as Occupational Health specialist including oil refineries.
  • Good knowledge of International Occupational Hygiene standards, e.g. ACGIH, OSHA and relevant international legislation.
  • Good knowledge of English.
  • Knowledge and experience of computer use with MS Office software.
  • Good ability to communicate in a multi cultural environment
  • UAE driving license is an advantage.

  

25.     SR PROCESS SAFETY ENGINEER

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.Sc Chemical Engineering, Professional level in HSE, i.e. CSP or fellowship from IOSH is an advantage.
  • 10 years experience related to HSE with deep focus on process safety in Oil, Gas or Petrochemical Companies. Some initial 02 years experience in process operation or process engineering is a definite plus.
  • Ability to act as an advisor and capable to interact with senior staff from operation and other refinery departments.
  • A highly motivated team player with effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  

26.     OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN

Minimum Requirements:

  • Completion of Technical Secondary (12 years) education or school education (10 years) + Certificate in occupational health/ hygiene.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • Good knowledge of occupational hygiene monitoring equipments.
  • Computer literate

 

Basic Functions:

Assist in occupational health surveillance programs-paperwork and data collection, follow up for completion of health assessments with employees and hospital. Provide support for emergency preparedness and response. Assist in the Employees¡¯ Health promotion and training Program. Facilitates health and wellness counselling and education. Follow up for timeliness and completeness of all OH Programs documentations based on PHS instructions. Assists Occupational Health Specialist to all activities required to OH Management. Other duties as determined by the OHS.

27.     ENVIRONMENT TECHNICIAN

Minimum Requirements:

  • Completion of Technical Secondary (12 years) education or school education (10 years) + Certificate in environmental monitoring.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience
  • 4 years experience in the inspection, basic repair and maintenance, calibration and testing of a wide variety of environmental monitoring equipment, including ambient & stack monitoring equipment, PID, FID analyzers, water quality test kits, etc. Experience in an oil / reputed company is preferable
  • Computer literate.

 

Inspection, basic maintenance and testing of multimedia (air, water and solid) portable environmental monitoring equipments used in an oil complex including stack monitoring equipment, PID, FID analyzers, etc, maintaining inventory of spares for these equipments, record keeping of all related items managed by the environmental team.

Assist Sr. Environment Engineer and Environment Engineers in their activities for routine environmental monitoring and environmental data collection.  Participates in the preparation of HSE Inspection plans, HSE Campaigns and other HSE activities.

Any other environment related activities assigned by the Sr. Environment Engineer and/or Environment Engineer.


28.     CATALYST RESEARCH LEADER:

Basic Functions:

Manages and leads the activities of Catalyst Research Section.

Studies and evaluates new technologies on refinery catalyst field and contributes to the overall performance of TAKREER¡¯s operation and research & development

Develops new catalyst technologies by cooperating with such research institutions as PI and other research institutes, as well as catalyst manufactures.

Contributes towards the advancement of scientific and technological qualification on catalyst fields of UAE and UAE nationals.

Applies new developed technologies to refineries and TTC with the assistance of engineers.

Directs and leads research activities on new technology development with cooperation with PI and other international research institutions.

Key liaison, for R & D related issues, with Ruwais, Abu Dhabi refinery, PI and Universities etc. Initiates research activities on new process technology within TRC and outside TRC. Play a major role by cooperating with researchers in TRC and refinery engineers applies TRC’s study including research achievements to refineries by close relation with refinery engineers. Using this information improves and enhances TAKREER refineries operations. Conducts various studies, such as on plant configuration, selection of possible licensing process and evaluation of economics etc, for TAKREER to construct a new refinery and revamping Lead and encourage TRC personnel to take part in seminars/the industrial exhibitions and conferences featuring the International refinery industry. Collaboration with the academic group of people in the petroleum and refinery sectors. Provides technical expertise for rationalization and optimization of refinery units. Guides and coordinates with process engineering refineries.

Provides technical expertise for Process Engineering design and development for

projects associated with oil refining/treatment and transportation.

Reviews the work performed by Project Management Consultants and supervises the Front End Engineering Design (FEED)/Detailed Engineering Contractors’ work.

30.     SR PROCESS IMPROVEMENT ENGINEER

Minimum Requirements:

  • Relevant working experience of at least 10 years in modern conversion refineries
  • Good knowledge of various refinery process units, available technologies and possible integration options with petrochemical complex.
  • Hands on experience of utilizing refinery PIMS LP models.
  • Ability to calculate Refinery Feed and products costs
  • Effective Analytical & Communication Skills
  • Fully conversant with economics calculations like GRM, IRR, NPV etc.

  

31.     SR. PILOT ENGINEER:

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.Sc. in Chemical or Petroleum Processing Engineering.
  • 5 years experience in process / operations with sound proven knowledge on Pilot Plant operations.
  • Computer Literate and good interpersonal skills.

 

Basic Function:

Coordinates and supervises on the pilot plant operation of diversified and critical in a safe and efficient manner to ensure smooth operations. Coordinates periodic checks, adjustments and maintains follow-up on all maintenance activities in pilot plants.

Conducts studies and evaluations of new technologies on pilot plant and catalyst to contribute to TAKREER¡¯s operation and research & development

Develops new catalyst testing methods by cooperating with catalyst researchers, research institutions and catalyst suppliers.

Carries out research activities on new catalyst development with cooperation of catalyst researchers and other international research institutions.

Maintain research activities on new technology within and without TTC.

Coordinates with catalyst researcher to conduct Test Runs, tests new catalyst and implements changes in pilot plant if necessary.

Actively be involved in witnessing facility and site acceptance test runs for all pilot plant units.

Provides technical expertise for design and development for new pilot plant units.

Supervises plant start-ups, shutdowns and emergencies of pilot plant as per the established procedures.

Provide support to develop technical specifications for new pilot plants.

Reviews and approves the design and engineering works performed by suppliers and/or contractors of pilot plants.

Completes shift supervisor log book and other work reports noting state of pilot  plants, corrective action taken and highlighting other items of pilot plant that need further attention.

Reviews/comments/approves PFD & P&ID, Datasheets, technical documents, technical specifications, standards, technical evaluation report and award recommendation prepared by suppliers and/or contractors of pilot plants.

Performs design & engineering works for new pilot plants.

32.     SR. QA / QC ENGINEER

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.Sc. in Mechanical/Metallurgy/Civil  Engineering Discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years experience in QA/QC which includes QA responsibility in various projects related to oil and gas.
  • Good knowledge of English. 

  

33.     SR PROJECT ACCOUNTANT

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.A. in Accounting or equivalent.
  • 8 Years relevant experience, preferably in a Contract environment in the Oil or related industries.
  • Practical Knowledge of major financial software packages.
  • Very Good knowledge of English.
  • Good communication skills.  

 

34.     TRAINING OFFICER

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.A in Education / Business Administration or relevant discipline.
  • 5 years administrative experience in Personnel related to implementation and administration of training plans, policies, and procedures. Very good command of English & Arabic Languages, Computer knowledge is essential.
  • Very good communication and interpersonal skills

 

35.     DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR (SQL SERVER)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • MCDBA Certification is an added advantage
  • Masters Degree in Computer Science or equivalent is an added advantage
  • 5-7 years of experience in Database Administrator of which 5 years in a similar set up
  • Knowledge and experience in Microsoft SQL server including Database Installation, Migration, Up-gradation, Data Loading, Configuration Management, Enterprise Security, Monitoring and Tuning, back up and recovery and trouble shooting.
  • Knowledge and experience in High availability solutions for MS SQL Server like Database Clustering, Virtual Server Clustering, Database Mirroring and scenarios of Disaster Recovery setups and solutions.
  • Knowledge of Oracle database to serve as back up for the Oracle DBA
  • Knowledge on Blade Server, SAN storage solution, different versions of Microsoft Windows operating system. Knowledge of other operating systems will be an added advantage.

  • Experience in project management, capturing user requirements, programming and trouble shooting, and reporting tools such as business objects, Microsoft development environment
  • Involvement of all phases of the applications development life cycle primarily in the design and coding phases

37.     PROJECT CO-ORDINATOR

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.Sc. in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years experience of planning and scheduling in oil and gas industry including at least 5 years in supervisory capacity.  Knowledge of basic computer and of relevant vendor packages, e.g. Primavera or equivalent.

  • B.Sc. in Engineering or Equivalent.
  • 9 years experience in Cost Control in oil & gas industry.

39.     SR QA ENGINEER

  • B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 7-8 years¡¯ experience in inspection of equipment/materials in an oil/gas or petrochemical industry and quality evaluation of suppliers/contractors.
  • Conversant with international codes and standards for process industry, engineering, manufacturing, inspection and quality/HSE systems.

  

40.     FIRE SHIFT SUPERVISOR

Minimum Requirements:

  • Completion of Technical Secondary education (12 Years) followed by 2 years full time training leading to a Diploma in Fire Engineering/Fire Science.
  • 8 years of increasingly responsible experience in the SEFD Fire Section including two years as a Lead Fireman.
  • Must possess a valid UAE drivers License.
  • Good knowledge of English Language.

  

41.     SAFETY ENVIRONMENT & FIRE DEPARTMENT MANAGER

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.Sc. degree in Science, Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 12 years experience in various aspects of safety, environment, fire and security, preferably in an oil refinery or petrochemical plant, of which at least 6 years should have been in a supervisory position.
  • UAE Driving license is an advantage.
  • Computer literate.
  • Good knowledge of English.

  

42.     CORROSION / CATHODIC PROTECTION ENGINEER

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.E / B. Tech degree in Electrical Engineering or NACE CP specialist.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in operation and maintenance of Cathodic Protection System in a petroleum /chemical plant.
  • Good knowledge of English.
